Hello, maybe this turret is a new good building for NS2?

It has the dimensions of a Siege but the model is more like the Armory.

stupid Example Concept:

<img src="http://i14.tinypic.com/4p2b7s8.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

The idea:
It gives an Impulse if an alien is in the attack distance.
So this "turret" give an electric cycle impulse around this "turret"
The aliens will hit, thats a little bit like the electric from armory or ressource tower except one, its arround the turret.

I hope you understand my broken english.

    I'm having trouble understanding the last line, but you mean something like those antlion suppressors in HL2? (Those who prevent antlions from coming near or burrow up from the ground)

    Yeah. This would basically be instead of a turret which does focused damage to one target, it would do less damage to all targets in proximity. However, I think that this concept is even better for a turret which the marines have absolutely nothing of right now - a debuffing turret.

    Let's say that for starters, infestation might try and overrun a marine base somehow. Let's not focus on how we don't know exactly how infestation will act and consider this a brainstorm. The "Stomper" class turret could be created as an anti-infestation measure. It would constantly vibrate the bulkhead of the ship or the station the marines are in. This vibration would be intense enough so that anyone walking on the surface would feel a "hum" in his boots (or claws or hooves or what have you) but would not actual be enough to damage the structure. Instead, it would retard biomass. New biomass would not grow in the radius of the stomper due to the constant vibrations making it impossible for the bacterium to take root in the local metal (which is apparently a very delicate process to start, but it clings tenaciously when underway).

    You could even take this idea a step further by saying the turret could mess up the highly fluid and strange bodies of the alien, making them feel sick. There could be a much more violent "Dizzying" effect for aliens as they get closer to a thumper turret, leaving them almost totally helpless if they are right next to it. This would provide a sufficient defense against close range attacks without actually killing the aliens, meaning that they would either have to suffer through the turret's effect to attack the base or fall back on ranged attacks. This seems a VERY logical step for the TSA to take - if the aliens are most dangerous at point blank range then create a tool which will put them at a disadvantage there.
