That is an absolutely terrible news report... Are all American news reports like that? It seemed to have the same pace and the same, 'im trying to make things more exciting than they really are' element as an episode of "America's dumbest criminals" or those bloody traffic cop shows they have in America.

seriously though, I have noticed how anchormen (newsmen? they are called anchormen right?) always greet the viewers with some hello and welcome & "I am your host, /name" and they end the news show, signing it off with their own name again. Is the job one of prestige, and fame in your countries? Just wondering.

Yes, being an anchor is like an extension of being the popular kid in school over here. Makes me sick. But, it's a product of our system. Can't damn one without damning the other.

1) Ever heard of the Taco Bell Chihuahua?
2) Both ways work, in Spanish you don't need to trim every little part of a sentence if it will mean the same without it. (A mi me gusta comer AND me gusta comer. both work)
As a licensed Internet Historian, I find myself amused by the fact that certain denizens of a certain board can call people new**** and then cite these "rules" in the same post. I would advise all those who wish to cite the rules to research the origin of these alleged "rules" and to consider their foundation for elitism.

I remember some of them seemed to think of it as some kind of magical process that would just halt the program.
And so I created the "The Halting Fairy" to refer to any gross misunderstanding of computing processes.
