Losing Gamma after ALT-TAB

After ALT-Tabbing I'll lose my gamma that is predefind in windows for fullscreen 3D games. I'm running on a laptop with a ATI x600. I've noticed this only happens in HL and HL-MODs ... VERY annoying. I've searched other places and came up empty handed. I've came across other people that have the same problem and no fix.

Can anyone shed some light on this bug?

    GldScr <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

You can try running the game in windowed mode. That should either solve it or make it completely unplayable. (But if I remember correctly GldScr games work well in windowed mode)

Just add -windowed to your shortcut or to the list of to be executed parameters through steam.

yah, basically half life (goldsource) games, don't play that well with alt tabign generally.

You can either try running it in a window (this should work) or you could try one of the myriad graphical tweak tools there are (they let you bind keys to switch gama ratios).

look in the competitive play section, they tend to know what they are on about.

I seem to remember having this issue with my old ATI card... if you have the ATI control panel thing there's a way to bind keys to alter gamma / brightness / etc whilst ingame.
