Just wanted to let you guys know that you can relive your ever lasting nostalgia through playing NS v1.04 this weekend. I'll be hosting a server in Dallas, TX, USA Friday through Monday.

The server's address is 72.36.154.229:27015

You can download a steam version of NS1.04 which can coexist with your new NS from here:
http://www.brywright.co.uk/downloads/files...steam-Bryns.exe

It's *very* easy to get working. You just run Bry's installer, then go into your Steam\steamapps\<steamname>\half-life\ folder and run the switch.bat. After that you can start NS from steam like you would any other steam game.

EDIT: I couldn't connect to Bry's download link, so I mirrored it here (I hope he doesn't mind): http://EvolveNS.com/ns_v1.04-steam-Bryns.exe

So, are we going to have a match going? I'm not a PC right now but I'd like to play a round tonight.

The best way to prove if 1.04 is better than current version is run a 1.04 server... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Good thinking Asmo. We shall see...

I don't necessarily think 1.04 is better.. I think the game has changed enough that it's almost like it's a different game and is worth playing at least occasionally. Almost like co_ and ns_ are both NS, but both very different.

I'll be hosting one the first weekend of each month (unless someone else wants to take over). Unfortunately I didn't get to play with more than 3 people this past one. The one before that (I forget who hosted it), but I played a game with 13 people, which was great.

I think we may need to list our steam friends IDs or somehow better organize a specific playing time for the next one to ensure we have enough for an enjoyable game.

I was actually quite disappointed with the last one. I wasn't able to get one game in the whole weekend, even if I was busy a lot of the time. I agree, we need to get more organized to have a constant player base of some sort.
