how good would it be to have a different egg model for each type of alien , so the marines could chose what egg they wanted to kill first ie. fade or onos egg also giving them the satisfaction of truely knowing what egg they just killed
On the otherside it would give the aliens the knowledge of which egg to protect first <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

If they got time to add it then why not it all helps but i think the Quikest way is to have seprate distinctive models for each alien allowing the marines QUIK prefrance over which egg they shootm and for the aliens to see whos doing what.
They is no Question in my mind something like this should be added !!!

I very much like the flashlight idea.
But then i dont like the idea of an onos hatching out of an egg 1/10 of its size.

Why not allow players to egg in infestation, and they kind of sink into it and become a growth on it, becoming pretty much invisible/invicible. Then say you chose onos, the infestation grows large, and then bursts as you hatch?

But you can also egg in the classic manner, in a vent or by a resource node. It just depends on where you egged.
Also on the topic on infestation, gorges should be able to help it grow. Or even create it from nothing (but it with wither and die).
Just by looking at a wall and holding E, it will create a growing mucas substance.
So in this way, if a player was egging away from infestation, and was about to come under attack soon, gorges could bury the egg in slimey infestation... and the egg would help it grow a bit, until it hatched, then itd all die.</b>

especially if infestation kinda spasmed on its own a bit... people would freak and think it was a skulk!

Now meld the two ideas together: Have the marines scanning the infestation covering everything with their upgraded flash lights, looking for the outline of that pulsating sack, but in among that Kharaa home world goo would be the skulk, doing what it does best: skulking. Many a player will surely jump out of their chair when suddenly the teeth and claws of a skulk greet them instead of the hoped for easy kill!
Thinking of these ideas together, working for gameplay goodness? Vote YES!
Also like the idea of the egg growing as the lifeform gets closer to hatching.
The higher the lifeform, the harder the egg. Alse lifeform should kinda grow slowly instead of just turning from a tiny egg to an onos in a second.
The more pleasure you get from knowingly killing onos eggs would just add to the whole ns experiance.
Sorta agree with you there, fades i can understand as they can crouch, but onos? no way.
