she's been my favorite artist for years and I still haven't seen her live <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> gotta watch those tour schedules more closely... still can't decide whether I like her solo work better or her Frou Frou work...
Damn you moultano for that culture, i am bloody crying now, her voice really hit a nerv, like a tingle a heat rush a core of joy that would take your breath away as a tear rolls down your cheek, well done.

I sing. Not so much as an adult, but I was in several choirs when I was younger, and it helped pay the bills later, in school. This video impressed me a great deal.
On my long list of dreams I just might never get around to pursuing is to do this sort of thing with others I've met online but have never sung with (or met, even) in person. The idea is that several folks are responsible for singing the various parts of the commonly-known piece, and no one hears the end result until it's mixed together.
Maybe I'll do it after I retire. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Her voice is very similar to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracy_Chapman" target="_blank">Tracy Chapman</a>. It was pretty good, but the sort of thing that is best live and done once. Its replay value is pretty low imo.

Good thing I played the Just For Now youtube vid in the background like 20 times since last night >_>
you guys should listen to some more Imogen or Frou Frou if you like this. The rest of her body of work is mostly even better than this song, believe it or not.

I'm not familiar with any of all of this. I used to listen to music a lot more than I do today. Don't know why that is, really... too much NPR and tech podcasts, I guess. This stuff makes me want to start listening again, to all sorts of stuff.

Many thanks for sharing. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Sadly I've been listening to too much NPR myself lately as well... because most radio is crap and sometimes I'm too lazy to update my zune and track down new tunes to put on it...

I'm a fellow NPR addict. Most of the new audio I listen to these days is "<a href="http://www.thislife.org/" target="_blank">This American Life</a>." I don't know where to find music that will really satisfy me anymore. I've started to go international for most of it. My recent faves are Indian Ocean (indian folk fusion) Calle Real (Salsa Timba) and Youssou N'Dour (mbalax). I think I'm starting to reach that age where you feel like you've heard just about everything and don't really have the emotional swings necessary to appreciate Hard Rock. I've started to appreciate a lot of classical music more than I ever used to.

I've started turning the TV to the "Classical" music station when I put my 9-month-old to sleep at night. The challenge, of course, is to last longer than he does. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I wish I could do that D: that's basically like real-time DJ'ing your own voice..
This one really amazed me- it proved that Techno-Pop could certainly be unique when done live.
Not kidding. That would be so cool.
That was really annoying.
