<i>Seattle</i> is deep up the world's ass? Typical East Coast attitude: New York is the center of the world, and anywhere you can't bus to from there is deep up the world's ass.
I can't go this year (my college starts really early) but I've been there every other year and you can be sure I'll be there every year from now on.

PAX is not going to reimburse your plane tickets. It would cost them tons more than what you paid to attend in the first place. Also, it's a gaming convention.
I attended necrowombicon twice when it was up in Vancouver.. Haven't attended since it became PAX though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Yeah, but if you kill yourself you won't be able to visit Microsoft, Nintendo, EA Seattle, ArenaNet, Monolith, Valve, Bungie, GasPoweredGames, Flying Lab Software, Sierra, Square Enix, or Zipper Interactive, all of which are based here. You also won't be able to visit the sci-fi museum with all its awesome sci-fi stuff.
Did anyone else go to the event? If not, you should have, it was great. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> BYOC ftw! Everyone I talked to there had heard of and/or played NS, and I even got a couple rounds at the BYOC. Also, Master chief ruled.
So, the question to anyone who went: Favorite event?
Also, who's got pictures and videos? I missed out on some of the pannels.

If you had posted your BYOC spot, I might have said hi. I was over in P8.
The only panel I went to was the second PA Q&A, since I missed the one on Friday. And I watched a little bit of the last round of the Omegathon. It was awesome when the guy killed the other guy with the flamethrower, and then accidentally caught himself on fire.
Also, I took second place in a Defcon tournament. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

Hah. I was N1. My roommate was N2. So far as the panels go, that's funny. I missed the first one too, so I went to the second. Also caught a little of the last omegathon round. What else... Won a keyboard at the fragdoll booth. Won one of the FMA signed wallscrolls. Watched a lot of people have fun on the DDR machines. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Most of all though, the Babo Violent 2 was the greatest.

Okay, were you in the BYOC line around 12 on Friday? Because a guy dressed up like Black Mage from Final Fantasy was playing DDR. It was hilarious.
Yeah, I was there for that. I was pretty close to the middle of the first line, so I had a good spot to watch DDR from. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> We were all in line at around 10:30. We were there before the DDR machine even came in. We all had to move over when they brought it.

However I will point out that yah, it sucks that it is on the west coast, flying out for a convention is kinda hard to justify for me.
I might do it from something like GenCon, but that is about it.
I flew out for Siggraph, and for a job interview. But on both occasions I was either reimbursed or they paid for it.

and I'm certainly not going. Not worth my time.

<a href="http://www.go3.com.au/" target="_blank">GO3</a> was held in Perth.
That's <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=perth&ie=UTF8&ll=-32.676373,116.169434&spn=13.409325,27.773437&t=k&z=6&om=1" target="_blank">Perth</a>.
Perth is about as far away from another significant population centre as can be possible. No wonder GO3 flopped.
I probably shan't be going to PAX, given its distance. Anyone want to pay for my airfare?
