voice transmit volume

hi

for some reason every time i restart steam my voice transmit volume is about 85% or so.
many players have told me its to loud and i got it down to 50%. but it gets back up (not when i restart ns,
when i restart steam). just wondered how to fix it or, more simple, if one of you can give me the command that controlls voice transmit volume, so that i can put it in the userconfig.

thanks.

Is your config read only? When you adjust it, it should save to your config file.

Hmm... looking through my config, I don't see a variable at all for it.

In fact, after some super-quick testing, it looks like it just adjusts the (recording) volume control.

So open your volume control panel, change it to the recording one (vs playback), and adjust your mic volume. (Exact steps may vary depending on your sound drivers / control panel).

This is correct and as such there is no cvar for changing the record (transmit) volume, only receive volume.

Also to note that even if your configs are not read-only, cvars placed in your userconfig.cfg will not be affected (the changes cvars are saved to config.cfg and then your userconfig.cfg is executed, which will result in the saved values being changed).
