Disabling Kharaa resource intake

An option to disable intake of further resources on yourself as a Kharaa.
This would be great if the kharaa is dying and are hanging on a thread.

I feel passing off resources is illogical, but an option to stop the intake seems more reasonable.
this isn't entirely overwhelmingly powerful, as it will still take some time to get a high resource count still.

Perhaps this could be done as a hive add on (with a slow construction time) option to prevent ridiculously quick onos + second hive rushes.

    I can't ever see this balancing well. On a 9 person alien team only two people need res. One alien can lerk after a minute or less, other aliens drop rt's or skulk, they all then decide not to take res so that someone can fade super fast or onos super fast, and the hive would go up at around 3 minutes easily.

    fat chance someone's going to be that generous in a pub game. would be much worse in a clan game - have 3 ppl forgo res for a fast hive and fade

    you might consider the possibilities of balancing.

    You both brought the same point that there'd be quick "insert hive or lifeform here" rushes, and I provided a reason to prevent that quick "insert hive, or lifeform here".

    Read the post again, see if there's any glaring flaws that could prevent this from being a possible good idea.

    Even with the "hive add on" it completely screws the game. Anyone happy to go skulk all game and eat RT's can stop their res...more fades, lerks and ultimately onos around at the two hive stage. It's all round a really bad idea, sorry.

    i like the idea, but this system wouldn't work. its needs to be kinda on par to what marines can do , if the commander wants to he can spend everyones res on a shotgun rush for example.

    perhaps an option of donating res to the last gorge alive when the last hive is dead or something?

    Well, there's already a popular /giveres plugin for that. People rarely use it.
    There's several things you could change to make this idea work, but then you'd really have to rework the whole Kharaa concept.
