<div class="IPBDescription">half-life vs. half-life 2; do i need to buy the original?</div>I've played NS in years past and have taken time off. unfortunately somewhere during that period of time i lost my original half - life CD. I do have however Half-life 2. unfortunately when i download the mod for natural selection i get some window that says it can't find my "half-life" folder... I'm probably answering my own question here, but do i need to buy it again, or is NS compatible with HL2 software?

yup, you have to have a valid copy of HL installed to play NS.

Half-Life might still be in your Steam account. If you ever registered your CD key, then you can install it without the CD.
