Display doesnt support downloadable game content error

I bought a Samsung 206BW 2ms SyncMaster 20" Wide Screen LCD and XFX Geforce 8800GTS XXX Edition and every since when I enter NS I get "Display doesnt support downloadable game content" error in orange. It disappears in about 1 second but some things dont show up in game. Such as the icons that show what the comm has dropped. They are just black blobs with text beside them. Also when I get in the Comm chair now everything is all dark colored. So far this is the only game I have this problem in. The bar in CO maps that shows how far u r to ur next level also shows up as just a black glitchy line.

Fixes:
1. The Half-Life Gamma Ramp isn't compatible with your display drivers.
This problem is caused by the Gamma Ramp method being incompatible with the 64-bit display drivers. They handle gamma in a way which wasn't around when Half-Life was made, way back when. What you will need to do is twofold.
First of all, open up the command console (default key: ` or ~), and type the following:

cl_gammaramp 0

That will disable the gamma ramp, leaving you to set it yourself. Obviously, this will lower the gamma dramatically. Then, what you need to do is to find the display options (under Options -> Video), and adjust the gamma upwards (Gamma slider is at the bottom right of the video options page). Then click Ok, which will then restart NS. Connect to your usual servers, and play away, with the proper display methods being used smile-fix.gif

My comand prompt is saying that ' cl_gammaramp 0 is not reconized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. help please

Thats because the key you strike to open the console also is a command key.

Se when i press my key to open the console and then enter cl_gammaramp 0 it will look like this:

"^cl_gammaramp 0"

What you need to do is get rid of ^or whatever you have the console key bound to. To do this open the console. Write something then delete everything and write cl_gammaramp 0

Yeah, i read your post again and i think, you opened the windows command promt and then typed cl_gammaramp.

yep wich i feel stupid for. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> i got that problem fixed and found i have more then one problem now it freezes at random times and locks the whole computer

no it says i have a intel® gma 950 what i just got done doing was checking and uploading drivers to make sure everything was working on video and audio
