the lerks look like bats or teradactyls (sp?) to me.

the HA marine reminds me of the Elemental from Mechwarrior3, they are even more alike when jet packs (jump jets in MW3) are added.

Onos reminds me of a big bear that fell in a paint vat and got dreadlocks glued to it's head... or possibly a very mad Bob Marley <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

the gorge looks like.. yeah a guinea pig is pretty accurate.

fades look like the aliens from Independance Day a little, and a little robo-cop looking in the face.

Friends of mine call the Gorge hamsters. And we're also fond of the **obscenity** off mutant rhino description of the Onos. I think I heard someone call a Skullk a mutant rat or something like that (I personally want a pet Skullk). And 404 is right the lerk looks like a really ugly bat.

Gorges run like evil hamsters and its always funny when dead to watch em run in circles around the Resource Points waiting to build (real early game.)

The best Kharaa pet to have would be an Onos, you could ride it around, use it to trample your enemies and paralyze store owners while you steal shoplift like crazy. I've been thinking on the fade, a friend said that the NS aliens were modeled off of mamals unlike normal scifi aliens which are more insect like. Then I remember the Onos/bear comment and it made me think, the Fade looks like a skinny angry bear.

Fades are Bipedal Dobermons with a little worm on his shoulder ala Pirate and Pirate.

Skulk = Dog..bit doberman like..legs dont fit a rat
Gorge = platypus! due to quick evolution it lost it's tail. Possibly a beaver too

Fade = Praying mantis, which would explain the claw attack...dunno about the acid spit..Im sure there must be an insect that does that

I've always thought skulks do indeed look like skinned dogs. Perhaps skinned dobermans with freaky pins for paws.

Gorges also remind me of big fat dogs that got squished. There's something in the way that they walk and jump that reminds me of dogs.

Lerks are definitely pteradactyls (however it's spelled). They have that nice combination of batlike and lizardlike characteristics.

Fades... I'm not too sure about Fades. I just get a vague sensation of an undertaker (tall figure dressed in black) with a touch of praying mantis, because of the way they hold their claws.

Onos are definitely the easiest to identify. Although they are definitely a rhino, for some reason I always think of them as elephants. Perhaps its the sounds that they make when charging: just like an angry elephant.

The unarmored marine is just like your typical grunt in any game, but the HA marine reminds me of the soldiers from "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" because of the eyes on their helmets.

The skulks looks like some kind of dog to me and I have to agree with Red5 that the gorge looks like a badger. Not sure about the lerk and the fade.. The lerk might look like some kind of bat, but there's no bad with that big legs that I know of.

The onos however remind me of a meaner version of the <a href='http://flood.nhm.ac.uk/cgi-bin/dino/detail.dsml?Genus=Triceratops' target='_blank'>Triceratops</a>.
