What models/prefabs do you want to see in the NS2TR?

    I want to see lots of those big huge 256 x 256 / 512 x 512 textures that are over stuffed with cool gizmos and such. Looking back through NS1 maps, there are a lot of the same texture with different parts use in various applications.
    They make adding detail easier with out models and such, just a frame and a cool techno texture is a whole wall

    As a mapper, I go through all the wads and pick out a texture set of 4 meg max ;( and try to stick with it So a crappy or bland texture set leads to maps like ns_veil

    NS1 had way too many different doors. I want more of them, like the intro to Get Smart by 10x

    PS (ever notice how many times that nos elevator platform(nos_elevplat) was used? think utilitarian...

    Some inoperable construction/worker/security droids just for eyecandy.

    Segway or segway like contraptions (definitely something workers would use to get around in a facility)

    Security Cameras.

    Billboards with advertisements and promoting the military effort (think star craft and starship troopers)

    Miscellaneous junk: flashlights, glasses, garbage cans, folders, bottles, safes, coat racks, hamster wheels, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, photocopiers, water coolers

    My suggestions for some official props to be included in the map tools are:
    <ul><li>Plantlife (potted or otherwise)</li><li>Windows (glass)</li><li>Bio-tanks (glass, full of liquid or busted)</li><li>Tables or work benches</li><li>Chairs or benches</li><li>Beds (and other barracks props for the marines)</li></ul>

    I'd love some kind of ore-processing machines. Since we're in the Refinery Set those would be... well, very welcome, I'd wager. Make them modular to a degree so they can look a bit different from map to map.

    I been reading this for a bit, didn't read everything so I don't know if it's been suggested, and if it has then I second it. But one thing no one has been noticing is, Why not stuff with alien Slime/goo on it!? What, an item happens to be in an area infested with aliens and they never decided to expand over the item? Maybe hey picked it up, spreed their stuff over the floor and then put the item back? Yeah right.... Another thing is, Dead bodies! Not everyone got out! So where is the dry blood or bones or even bodies?! Also, maybe a few cryo-sleep places where people are frozen and sleeping, and some with the glass cracked and people eaten with blood and such. Maybe be like aliens and have bodies mounted onto the walls near the hive or something. Also, something that can make things unique, especially with this, is maybe turrets or guns scattered around the maps? Maybe the turrets are deactivated and the marines need the commander to give them a power source? or a hidden room the aliens didn't get into that had some ammo or extra guns like an armory? I'm pretty sure those places would be heavily fortified that even a Oni couldn't bust down the door! Another thing, is maybe if it's implanted in the game, to be implanted into maps would be: IF we would unweld doors, doors that were auto welded in the beginning, that you could unweild to get something, like a second way to the alien hive, or a new room that would be better for be a second base.

    I'd love to see a <b>tunnel boring machine</b>... I figure if we're on an alien planet and we're building a base, we'd start with a natural cave and bore deeper into the rock when we needed more space.

    Everyone needs a bathroom. You could add toilet paper, plungers, hanging lights that flash, exploded leaking toilets, magazines on the ground, lemon pledge of couse, and maybe even some soap bars or lotion/deoderant
    Showers and baths?

    Mini cranes in the storage bay. Possibly some dead bodies hanging halfway out of some crates; people that tried to hide but got found and eaten. That would be pretty sick.

    A futuristic relaxation area that they would have to add to keep up morale. What with a dance floor, disco ball, futuristic stereo, and bar with beer bottles, wine bottles, jack daniels. The good stuff ^^

    Everyship would have to have a captains office. Huge leather chair type thing with a glass desk with a holographic map on the wall. Bookcase with the futuristic books i read about in the begining of this thread. A futuristic phone too ?

    Of course there would have to be the command center. What with all the chairs and computer terminals. Maybe some dead Officers slumped over the equipment. Pens, Paper, Wires, Chairs, Desks, Holographic keyboard cleaner (shamwow. Its like a shammy but its better! it will leave you saying WOW everytime. Its made by the germans and, well they always make good stuff. Its good for your RV and you can use it for a bath mat too!)

    Health Bay. Medicine of course. Pain bottles. Needles. Infirmary beds and those evil little puke buckets. Evvvilllll >:(

    Could go on but im tired. Think im comming down with a cold. Not that anyone cares.

    i hope the devs analize suggestions and have a good judgment onto what to left out or who's idea to ignore completely cause it just doesnt fit the game/atmosphere, etc.

    Im pretty sure they will nail it :) but had to say it couldnt keep my fingers shut.....

    No trolling intended, my honest opinion, for example, i think i read something about female models of the players.

    Actually i think that's a bit more complex that making another biped and shaping it like a woman... they actually move different, should have different physical "stats" and everything around them would need to be done from zero possibly (not sure thouugh). Not only cosmetics but how it behaves inside the game.

    I believe that's something similar to the response DICE gave when they were asked why there were no females on their BFBC2 game since there are a lot of girls in the army or something like that.


    @offtopic: Im new here and im actually remembering (and enjoying) to come by the forum and see what you guys are talking about xD (Y) its a nice place...

    Not sure if any one has suggested this But would any one else like a working elevator/cargo elevator, could cause some really cool situations along with causing cool level design.

    I think gravity mechanisms will be attacked by infestation, which will make skulking easier. Getting out of bad scenarios will be crucial to the marines survival.

    Black armor Aliens. (like black armor marines, maybe as DLC or this time for special edtion ex-pack?)

    Bilborads for server/clan to promote/recrute or just have the rules up.

    It would be nice to see several diferent facial features for marine models. Aliens come in several shapes and sizes but marines are all clones.

    Maybe a five-o-clock shadow or some diffferent ethnicities or for that maybe a few with broader shoulders or the look of missed anger managment classes. Maybe a marine is just...well....happy!!

    Many games sport this feature and some even let you overlay your own face onto the caractor (R6vegas). Maybe it's unrealistic but maybe the faces could be done.
