great or super great?
So guys, girls, and eunichs,

I as one of those of us who had to take it easy last night and play Fortress Forever while I waited for TF2. Which came out long after i was already in bed, so I could make it to work today. However, about halfway into the big wait last night I got a popup informing me that restarting steam would get me a sweet new friends client. I obviously took such a hot deal, particularly as i was hoping it mean that steam would also begin unpacking my poor TF2.

Now, let me say that while the individual chats are basically the same, groups chat with audio is pretty hot. Additionally, I now know that one of my buddies has spent 7.5 hours this week alone playing peggle extreme. For those of you who don't know, that means he has spent freaking close to an hour(45minutes) on every one of the levels. After getting the audio chat going for a while, we decided it was time to play a game, that game being FF to get us geared up for the release of TF2. It turns out that the groups chat works in game. I get that same happy TS/Vent feel I get normally in eve as well as the all the annoying voice spam in game. For free too, no hosting. not pain no echoing no feed back. Pure win.

Also the whole dashboard part where I can just hit shift tab and get that bad boy going in anything, including peggle extreme, is, to quote my bartender from Boston, "Wicked Awesome". Particularly, when mercilessly taunting others who are waiting for tf2.

I tried to express this to a certain other young man who informed me that "steam sucks?" additionally that "peggle extreme is rly silly". Do you concur?

Thoughts? discussions on how to spell wicked awesome like I was from bahston.

The usual.

Oh, and I demand a list of every ones avatars, so I can make fun of you for them. (mine is still the good old !)

I wouldnt count on those stats too much, as it tend to record the time you spent in the game. Or in other words: If he fired it up and then let it run for 6 hours he would have "played" 6 hours. But it would be interesting to see how offline play is handled/recorded. It also seems that the recording system is pretty messed up (at least for me).

I played at least 10h of FF since its release, but I did not play any RO in the last 2 weeks. Yet Ro shows with 30+h and FF (or the hl2.exe) doesnt show a single hour.

And what, the guy's deliberately padding his Peggle playtime? Nobody opens up Peggle and leaves it open.

RO probably shows 30+ hours total, and I don't think it logs mods.

I love love love Steam friends. It's awesome. The avatar showing up in TF2, the design of the pages, the groups and announcements and chats and invites... wee. And you know what else is great? Team Fortress 2 stats!!!!1

I love Steam like I love cookies. Alot.

arrr no, not stats. When I'm new to games they are just fun, but once I've become a superior opponent online the competition shifts to improving stats as some sort of personal goal. This is speaking from bf2 experience where I get annoyed if I don't get at least a 3:1 k:d per round. Course most people get sub 1 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> *cough*

ha just noticed I opened my post with arrr totally unintentionally. Pre-emptive pirateage.

At least the stats are all positive ones.

That may be, but it shows 1.8h Bejuweled Deluxe 2, yet I only have the demo version, that allows for only 60 minutes of play.
