<div class="IPBDescription">Places to post, suggestions, and more.</div>Okay, lets put our heads together on how video on the net can be used to promote NS2.

First, where are good places post/submit the video(s)?

Example: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/</a>

Second, what suggestions for videos would best promote NS2? Details?

Example: A) A video on building maps for NS2.
B) A video on the gameplay of NS2.
C) A video on the story of NS2.

Third, what about the making of video should we know about?

Example: Such as the best programs to edit with or tutorials that are good to work with.

    Not understanding how all the hype goes by on YouTube (maybe I'm too old???) I can understand why that would be one of the first sources, especially with the amount of videos from that that end up on CNN or Faux News and the like. I can't reccomend any similar sites other than <a href="http://www.youtube.com" target="_blank">YouTube</a> and <a href="http://www.myspace.com" target="_blank">MySpace</a> (it's great now that they have video on their site, does NS have a MySpace page yet? I know WoW and Guitar Hero do...)

    As far as video is concerned, I spent 10 grand or more on schooling and I'm sitting on everything I learned (the commercial industry is too cutthroat for me...) but I'd be willing to pass it on, or assist in producing some "viral videos." I'll try and slap together a tech demo containing some of the concept work released thus far.

    A good example of a marketing style vid is done by the Warhammer online guys, they have this fanatic dev guy that rants about aspects of the game. Perhaps someone in the community is outgoing enough and manic enough to make a video podcast for elements under development? It would probably require some more tid-bits from the development tho.

    example of what I mean can be found here;
    <a href="http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?filedetails=11264" target="_blank">http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?filedetails=11264</a>

    ps - I'm not going to play warhammer online mmorpgs are the devil.

    thats true. warhammer online is doing great advertisment by making podcasts, small videos and stuff. all about the game. a lot of thos vids are only 20 seconds long but very creativ. you can also see some examples here: <a href="http://www.warhammeronline.com/english/media/podcast/" target="_blank">http://www.warhammeronline.com/english/media/podcast/</a>

    the problem just is that you need 1 crazy guy within unknownworlds doing this. the ideas itself should not be the problem - you need 1 crazy guy that likes to do "crazy" things on camera <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> (it does not even requier much money)

    anyway, any kind of videos are helping for as long as they are not totally bad

    Another method is a riddle or mystery site like the one for Valves' "Portal" game soon to be released. This site; <a href="http://www.aperturescience.com/" target="_blank">http://www.aperturescience.com/</a>
    I spent about 1 hour messing around with it trying to figure it out, its possible that people go to the site and then say to their friends have a look here try help me figure it out. A good way to make an element of mystique or intrigue about the game.
