<div class="IPBDescription">aliens more players than marines</div>Has anyone though about what the game could be like if the teams were balanced for a 1:1.5 ratio ? On a 32 player server 12 of the players would be marines, and the rest (20) would be aliens.
The aliens would need to completely changed of course - not necessarily nerfed, but just a different style of play. As individuals they would be more like scouts, but as a group they would be like a mass of insane piranahs! They could have in a way fast access to all of the map, but in order to achieve something, many would need to work together and hit a location at the same time.
Atmosphere wise it would heaps better, marines would never feel safe - you might be chasing a single skulk which then runs around a corner only to be reinforced by another 4!
parasiting would be more crucial to keep track of the marines.

firstly its taken ages to get it balanced this much, it would bea nightmare to rework it all again.
secondly, 1 of those marines is in the commchair at all times, therefore there's 1 less marine out in thefield.
in my opinion, the way it should currently work is to make it stack marines before aliens. so if teams are even and you want to join, you are forced to go marines. but i guess its remained the way it is because of skill stacking issues etc...
obviously some players would sit on the marine team - most clans are usually bigger than one team anyway
e.g 4 aliens chase down a marine only one gets him repeat this a few times and it may get dull for the aliens that arnt quite as quick

Balance is fine as it is. If you want to talk balance then in low NS games the Marines should always have one extra man. Number of times I'm playing and kill gready individual goes alien when its 2v2 making it 3v2 meaning the single mairine has to handel 3 aliens on his own is insane!.
