Global Warming becomes the problem all around the world.
It has effect in every country even Thailand.
There is an activity for Global Warming by students of Bangkok University.
In the activity we gave the plants for free at "JJ Market" all the day.
The objective is to save the environment for a future by motivating people to
plant trees and using less plastic.

I definitely want to help global warming! Anything I can do to advance its cause would be great, really. Right now I leave all my appliances running 24/7 and drive 2 Hummers taped together, but I'm not sure that's enough. What tips do you have to help global warming, besides the bag thing? I already knew that plastic bags are actually more ecologically sound than paper bags due to the energy it takes to produce them, so your tip isn't very useful. What other things can I do to help global warming?

This reminds me about this stupid corrupt campain on my school called Operation Dayswork ("OD")

"Global warming is becoming a problem world wide. The weather on planet earth is changing drastically. In norway we get shorter winters, more rain and more insects. For youth in mid-america, there is an entirely different reality. Schoolways are flooded away, and extreme weather drys the vital eeh.. farm thingies... OD cannot do anything about this matter, however we can rally togheter and collect money so that poor people get s education".

Last year they collected over 28 823 000 norwegian KR ($ 5764558) where around 60% was used to pay expenses and 15% into creating stupid papers handed out at schools.

actually as bad as global warming sux think of it this way - the faster we heat the planet up, the faster everyone dies and the planet goes back to normal. its like when you have a fever.

So invading small defenceless countries and slaughtering their population is helping stop global warming! Go team!

I could buy more airconditioners and point them outside to help cool down the world, while keeping a balance with energy consumption of them suckers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/asrifle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::asrifle::" border="0" alt="asrifle.gif" /> Btw isn't global warming just another marketing ploy to buy stuff or pay for crap you don't need anyway...

Yeah! Let's all make fun of people from other countries' English! You see, it's fun because they're different from us! That makes them a target!!

Sometimes I wonder whether some of you have minds at all.

A noble first post, maybe, but an odd one without even an introduction from the poster.

Fine, you want me to lay off the English? I'll pretend he's written with more clarity than the best of journalists, then, and attack the message. Paper bags are less ecologically sound than plastic bags. Even though they're made out of a renewable resource, it's still less of an impact on the environment to use plastic over paper when you factor in all the different variables. This is from the EPA. If these "let's post on random Internet forums in broken English (sorry, awesome English) to change the world" folks had thought for more than a microsecond, they would have handed out canvas bags instead of paper bags and paper flyers. A reusable canvas bag is a million times more environmentally friendly than either paper or plastic. In conclusion, the suggestion that we use paper bags is, ironically, something that will "for help global warming."

the paper vs. plastic tangent is something I've been wondering about lately. I've always considered myself an environmentalist. I worked for a couple years for the government at a wetlands preservation laboratory. I always recycle. I think the US (and the world) would have been a much better place if Gore had been elected 8 years ago. but what's the big deal about things that aren't biodegradable?

OK, plastic isn't biodegradable. you know what else isn't biodegradable? rocks. and the world has quite a few of those. what's the big deal?

yes, I know landfills can be ecological disaster areas if not managed properly. leachate can enter groundwater and whatnot. methane gas from landfills contributes to global warming (though landfill methane is probably like 1/100th of 1% of the human impact on global warming... and even that is caused by biodegradables, not plastics and such). I guess the more trash we have, the more energy we have to expend taking it to landfills, and digging landfills, but it's not like the world is going to be covered in plastic eventually just because it's not biodegradable.

just wondering if there's something I'm overlooking when we talk about how bad plastic is for the environment. it won't be an issue anymore when the petrolium to make them runs out anyway.

That was not cheesy. It's 100% true. Canvas beats plastic, but plastic beats paper.

You can't help or prevent global warming no matter what you do. Paying a tax will not help it, keeping carbon emissions lower will not help it. It will always happen in the end. The only real thing to do is learn and adapt to living in the changing environment.
