NS Scene check up.

I found myself surfing the NS site once again, after what, 3 or 4 years? And now I just can't resist to post this thread directed to the HC players back in 1.0 - 1.04. Remember me? Well I don't expect you to if you haven't played NS from the 1st day it was released.

So now let me introduce myself. I'm Klasu of Clan Nova and if you ever played around 1.0 - 1.04, maybe even early 2.0? the name probably should ring a bell. Clan Nova was the #1 EU team dominating clanbase.com and such ladders for a long time and we even won 1 round ( 1 - 3 vs the US beta tester team, can't remember the name ). We were a Finnish team based on an IRL friends group with a few additions.

My question to the NS community is that do you remember us, are there are still some good old players and clans playing ( Fury, DivisionWiking, Fek'lyrs to mention a few ) and how is the scene in general today, are there any ladders or tournaments running? I'll do some research and if I find some activity we might revive Clan Nova!

    Seeing replies like this and getting those flash backs... Oh boy what a feeling. When will NS2 come out and will it be competitive enough you think? Because atm the Clan Nova is kinda looking for a new and addictive game since the interest for World of Warcraft ( zomg ) is running out..

    During past 4 years, I have seen probably half the old 1.0 players come back in 3.0- For finnish names, this includes names like Peach, klatu, Rebeli, Huntax, Vodga, EZM, Tm, Deca, Anton, N-Type, Naxu, Masiina, fraggen, Disqo, Kryptoni and the infamous "chosen one" oma. However currently most of those have quited again. Its an interesting remark, and you are not the first one to do this kind of post. :]

    Blindy Fury, DW nor Fek don't play anymore, some of their players have made comebacks induvidually and in teams.

    However competitive ns-wise, there have been many very succesful teams later on (namely Knife). Check <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Past_NS_Competition_Winners" target="_blank">history</a> sd made.

    EU side <a href="http://ensl.zanith.nl" target="_blank">the European Natural Selection League</a> is still running. The signups have just been opened and any new (or old for that matter) clan is very welcome to join. Activity-wise NS is not living its golden times, but it really doesn't stop me enjoying competitive games I can participate in.

    I dont consider myself oldschooler but I can easily recognise these names, the scene has not really rotated and it has always had many same players playing.

    Just noticed that division wiking recently played the cs team we(nL) are playing in the cb cs opencup qualifiers, and on the same map too! INTERESTING

    Tark joining IRC a couple of months ago as a one-off was one of the most random things I've seen in NS.

    Hej klasu!

    You were going to play as a stand-in for my clan in our first clan match ever but somehow people got mixed up and we got klatu instead <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />
    Our first clan match was against imV btw, rough.
