Inexplicable new computar problems

Fuzzy sound, and a furiously vibrating fan
First the most pressing: my PSU makes the whole computer vibrate so much it can be heard downstairs. I currently have a very heavy book on top of it to make it sit still, but that might just be hiding the symptoms of a more serious problem, I dunno. And oh yeah, I have tried tightening the screws, but it didn't help.

Second, my sound goes fuzzy at certain thresholds. I can't tell if it's based on volume or treble/bass, but it sounds kind of like when you use an audio editor to amplify the volume over the cut-off point. This didn't happen when I first had the computer all put together, which was last Sunday.

Any help at all is appreciated.

sounds like the speakers might be going bad (but they're new so who knows) and the fan is either losing its bearings or just needs a little cleaning and then just wiggle it down onto the motor a bit. I had a fan with some trouble on the mobo and this generally fixed it. After a couple times, it never happened again.

Ah no, I should've said I use headphones, and they're the same as I had before for at least a year.
Can I just screw the PSU open to fix the fan?

What PSU do you have? Have you searched online to see if it's a problem typical of the model (or for a solution)?

Depending on what model it is I might consider getting a new one.

    FSP PowerSupply (PSU) 350W 120mm fan <20dB (FSPATX350PNF) (Bulk)
Or "Fortrons 350PNF". Almost no results on Google, none of them mention any problems with it.

It could be you just have a bad PSU. What case is it in?

If the computer's new, this might be a case for warranty, in which case you should NOT go opening PSUs or anything. Also, opening PSUs can be risky I think, so better go read up on it first if you DO decide to open it.

    Deltaco something or other. Why?

Because if the case is flimsy or something it could just vibrate itself a bunch.

And yes, for god's sake, don't open your PSU unless you intend to shuffle off this mortal coil.

oh come now, I've had current direct from the wall running through my body, one terminal per hand. I'm still here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
