I think one of the most annoying thing about PG is that you have to cycle through all of them to get to the last destination.
So when a rine uses the PG, a menu would pop up showing all the possibilities. Unbuilt PGs could be indicated as grey for eg.
Also, the comm could also be able to edit the list, so when theres an emergency at one location, people will have no other choice but that specific PG.

    <b>If</b> phasegates are still going to be used, I'm all for this one. Can't count the number of times I've gone crazy over not knowing where I'd end up, eventually coming out the wrong end, being eaten, rinse, repeat.

    I like the mod that allows you to do this currently, saves time and is much more effective. If something similar was implemented into NS2 then that would be good.

    yes.. there is a mod that can let you cycle through the PG selection. I hope this is implement that as well.

    A-frikin-men brother!!!!! I have only seen this mod on maybe one server and it's probably the most useful. Especially when the comm bacons everyone to the base, and is like "phase to vent hive now!", then the whole team is just pressin the use button like crazy tryin to get there.

    The problem here is the comm building so many phase-gates. PGs give rines a good advantage and by not beeing able to select the destination they're getting this disadvantage of incresed time to phase to the right location by building more of them. Makes sense to me

    yer, crypt has it right. not being able to select is a good diminishing returns factor.
    also, this has been suggested many times.

    I think it might work well that when you step into the phase gate, you disappear and get a background (like a Stargate style phasing wormhole) with your destination printed in the middle ("Hive 2") for a split second. During that split second, you can tap forward or backwards to cycle destinations. When you haven't changed your destination for a .4 of a second, you pop out at your selected portal.

    List of Phase GATES and the room they are in from a pop up menu like the TECH TREE. Com can select one as Primary phase (maybe this could be a TECH?). Once a Marine phases they go to this one first and then will cycle through the rest in the order that they where built. After 15 seconds the next time the marine phases it will be straight to the primary phase again even if there are more on the list he has not visted. This way the marines can GL 30 rounds into the OC nest, phase back to base, reload and phase straight back. Alternately if the marine "shift+use" then they could either phase directly to the primary phase or get a location menu.

    How about you let the Commander link up the Phase Gates, deciding which one goes where? Of course you could also add an "Emergency" function where a quick click would make all PG's lead to the one the Com wants his Marines to go to?

    I would also suggest that you add a popup when looking at the gate, saying where it leads.
