<div class="IPBDescription">to get inspired for a virtual project of mine</div>Hi, I have the oportunity (on my own) to start creating virtual world componants and even a brand new virtual world at the company where I am. I am hoping to get hired through this (currently on a contract doing nothing like this stuff) as the current ressources working on this aren't realy that knowledged (in fact, its more like they are barely just starting so I have an advantage).
So far the only virtual world they have for this particular engine (Torque) is a plain simple (too simple !) island. People were asking about why not go with something that is not based on real world places/environments. I started thinking outside the boxe and thought about doing an orbital station kind of virtual world. This would be only for a showcase to show them what can be done with their engine. There are so many things they can do with this engine but they haven't even started exploring them to show it to the users and project members.
So I was looking through the net for orbital station sci-fi artworks to give me ideas on a good station for my project. But so far, I haven't found anything interested. I remember weeks before, I had seen realy good CGI/photoshop images.
Are there any movie suggestions to get similar infos ? I only have the Aliens DVD movies pack.
I had other idea where I could replicate Marven the martian's home planet just for fun or a moon base.

Already went through Deviant art.
So far what I have seen with Torque is one unique terrain. With this idea , I would need 3-4 non-connected terrains.
About 20-25 years ago, on TV, I remember watching a show where this small community discovered they were living into a dome and managed to send one guy out of it into the central station. He journeyed through several other worlds as there were lots of world domes. They were showing shots inside and outside of it. That would be a good inspiration if I can actualy build such a world with Torque. I just don't recall the name of the show.
Anyway, tonight at work (most boring day of work where I have nothing to do for 6 hours), I'll keep searching the net.
That's why I said any one apart from that one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
It's the only one I can find on the internet in two minutes.

Here is a giant poster showing relative sizes but should give you an idea of the ship styles. I can't find any pictures of the actual starbases in the game.
