Now you're just being bitter; I could say "LULZ SWING A BIG DUMB ANIME SWORD AS A CLICHE NINJA IN A SPIN OFF TO A FIGHTING GAME!" But I won't.

For me, she enters the uncanny valley(of women). Where she looks so good, that it suddenly registers as "Fake"(whether it is or not) and I just don't have any interest anymore.

Ninja Gaiden only had two big swords, and Ninja Gaiden 1 came out on NES. Not a spin-off of a fighting game. Stupid.

Only two big swords? Man, that's a load of my chest. The story of the revived Ninja Gaiden games are a spin off to DoA.

Nobody else has any qualms with the over-the-top badass nature of NG. It seems you simply prefer the mundane.

And what's wrong with being bitter at a game that delievered nothing but disappointment? After hearing endless praise about GoW and finally trying it, it was an absolute letdown. It was nowhere as fluid as NG and, like I mentioned earlier, some of it was downright halfassed. I distinctly remember when you use the "finishing move" or w/etf on the minotaur guys, the animation like, magically swivels both characters around on the ground, and the ensuing animation itself is absolutely terrible.. that kind of stuff just yanks you right out of the gameplay.

I mean, hell.. you haven't even played NG, so what are you even doing discussing it? GoW has the better setting, art, and story... LOL, perhaps. Maybe they should have just made it into a movie or something, because comparatively, the gameplay is absolutely flaccid.

As opposed to NG being long and hard? Possibly veiny and pulsating?

Im surprised at the hate for GoW, by no means is it a perfect game but it was pretty much the first to use the timed button-pressing cinematic fights, which is now becoming commonplace in other games it seems. Maybe I'm easily pleased but wrenching open a sea-monsters eye-lid then repeatedly gouging it with a burning blade amused me to no end.

Mundane? No. God of War has a big sword too; and it's over the top and unnecessary all over. I enjoy the stuff, but I was just making a point that you're bitter at GoW.

Yeah, I guess they don't mean too much in games now.

Shenmue had the timed button thing way before God of War. Anyway, the fact is that God of War is a pretty shallow action game. I played and enjoyed both, and while the story is alright, the gameplay just isn't that special. NGB is the superior game when it comes to the meat of it. Speaking of, I'm finishing off my game on Hard to move on to Very Hard and I just got up to Awakened Alma thanks to this thread. Still so fun.

I hope to the lawd that there will be more platforming segments/puzzles/whatever in NG2. Probably my single biggest complaint about NG:B is that there were not enough leet ninja jumps.

REally? My biggest complaint with NG:B is that the last 3-4 chapters are really puzzly and exploration crap.

The animation quality in Reboot is much higher than that of any videogame.

    And most prerendered cutscenes.

What I'm trying to say here is that was a very bad example.

My bad, wasn't trying to insult your childhood :U I liked Reboot too.

... but it was pretty stiff-looking at times >_>

My memory might be a little fuzzy on the issue, but I remember Reboot as having terrible animation for the most part.
