I just finished playing season 2, episode 1 of Sam and Max and must say it's as good, if not better than season 1 was. The first season had me chuckling, but this time around there were a few zingers that really hit their mark. I also enjoyed the new hint system, after a while of wandering in circles once it gave a subtle hint that pointed me in the right direction. Anyone else been playing the new Sam and Max series?

I recently purchased and played HL2:EP1 and HL2:EP2 back to back and I found EP2 to be much improved over EP1! I felt the pacing to be expertly refined into a non-stop ride with the appropriate highs and lows, tensions and moments of reflection. Thinking back and comparing EP1 to EP2 I can see the refinements that Valve made to the 'feel' and the flow of the game, I suspect a similar phenomenon has taken place with Sam and Max. The episodic content allowing the developers to refine their material incrementally, rather then deliver it all unrefined in one big go.

Do the games follow the same kind of humour writing as the TV show?

Yes very similar. They use a couple of lines from the original game too as a throw back. After getting through the second episode I'm starting to like it more. At first I thought the joke were a bit, well, not funny. Now that I've gotten to know/remember the characters a bit the humor is really coming through for me.
