1. about how many people are on natural selection at any givin moment? like is there a game status page?

Actually that's rubbish. Your graphics card is a nasty bottleneck, but you should be able to render a stable 99 FPS by limiting your resolution to 640x480 or 800x600 (maybe even 1024x768), by making some config adjustments and by optimising your graphics cards settings for performance with either Ati tray tools or Rivatuner.

Bear in mind it will look terrible. Really terrible. But then again, if you're playing this game for the graphics you're obviously not sane.
