<div class="IPBDescription">Makes me think about NS</div>I have started watching an anime called "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Gender" target="_blank">Blue Gende</a>r" that I discovered by accident. It is an old one. I think it dates from about the same time as Robotech. I have watched the first 5 episodes so far.
Its the story of a man who asked to be frozen until a cure is found for his disease. It was supposed to be for 1-2 years but is awaken by soldiers 15 years later and discovers that about 90% of the population has been wiped out by giant bugs that eat anything and convert into cocoon any human they find. Apparently there is something special about him and that is why the soldiers have had for mission to rescue him and bring him to an orbital station called "Second Earth".
At first, it was annoying me because I thought he was reacting too much to his new surrounding world. But now, I am starting to get interested as it brings more reality into the story. For exemple, they had found surviving humans and he promised to a little girl to protect her but those humans and that little girl all get massacared while those soldiers are trying to protect them.
It could be just a coincidence that those last 3 episodes I just watched were better then the first 2. I hope the rest of the 26 episodes get better.
Since it is about the rest of humanity trying to survive against giant bugs, it made me think about NS. More likely about NS2. Finding out that earth has been conquered by the aliens and you being part of the only left earth army, you are trying to bring peace back to earth by wiping out all those aliens and pick up whatever humans survivors you can find.

I knew I liked you
I watched an anime called "Blue Gender" that follows exactly the same plot, except my version was one single feature, about 2 hours long I think.
The ending was very confusing for reasons twofold:
1. It was english <i>dub</i> not sub, so a lot of story must have been lost in translation
2. a 26 episode anime series was cut down to a 2 hour movie, no wonder it was confusing... because it seemed all the characters had really really important reasons for things that they do, but only have like 3 speaking lines in the movie.
Example (spoiler): <span style='color:#000000;background:#000000'>The head-scientist type fellow shoots himself at the end there, but he only had like 45 seconds of dialogue tops. He seemed very important, and had very important reasons for killing himself but forgot to mention them to the audience.</span>
