Hi!

I'm new here, that's why you haven't heard from me before! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Anyway... I've got a problem installing NS and I dunno why...
1. It says that it can't find a valid installation of steam. Problem is: I've got steam installed.
2. I've got Half-Life. Old package though, Half-Life generation with Opposing Force included and Counter-Strike (dunno what version). But I can't seem to get it to appear in Steam (Half-Life, it is installed) and I'm trying to register the CD-key but it denies it EVEN though I've never registered it before...

Can anyone please help me. I really want to try this thing out. I've played the Training in Half-Life and so on. I'm out of thoughts... please help!

This sounds like it may be more a steam issue than an NS issue. You have to associate your CD key with steam and then install Half-Life through the steam system. It is possible that your key was randomly generated/stolen by someone even though you had never used it on steam. Or if you bought it used/got it from a friend then it may very well already be associated with a steam account. If either of these are the case then you'd need to buy another copy of Half-Life ($9.95) or contact steam support. Unless of course I've misunderstood your issue.

    asmodee got it in 1.

    If you:
    1) Have a legitimate copy of HL1
    AND
    2) You know it has never legitimately been used in Steam.

You can contact Valve, tel them the issue, and what not and see if they can help you out.

if they can't, well buy a copy via Steam for $10.
