new Grenades

IMHO, grenades are an essential part of ANY shooter, and the more dazzling the effects, the better!

Don't you just love chucking a grenade down a corridor and seeing its effects?

Well, my idea for some new grenades are as follows (and they'll have pretty cool visual effects if they're implemented):

1. Frost Grenade:

It reduces the temperature of its surroundings, causing movement speed to decrease for however long it takes for the ice to melt.
It will look as if streaks of blue light are being sucked into the grenade (giving the effect it's imploding rather than exploding). It will leave icey marks on anything affected.
Particularly useful, considering how fast the alien buggers are.

2. A Flame type grenade:

Upon exploding, flames are spewed in random directions. They will stick to whoever they come in contact with and will do damage over time.

3. A plasma grenade:

Think Halo (a grenade that glows and will stick onto whoever it touches/is thrown onto).

Anyone else have any suggestions to my ideas/ more ideas?

p.s. Of course, the frost grenade sounds a bit naff... maybe it could be a 'sonic grenade' - emits a high frequency pulse that disorientates whatever is nearby, reducing movement speed for a period of time.

Shrapnel grenade. Very low-damage per spike, but tons of them. And by low, I mean 1/4 of a point of damage, but with a 4X modifier on structures. Their main purpose would be to find cloaked aliens or structures (by sending shrapnel to every corner of the room), and to a bit of extra damage to structures than normal grenades.

I'm not sure sticky grenades would be substantially different from regular nades, but the flame and freeze grenades could be good.

I'd be more interested in grenades that actually clear vents, or some incendiary grenades or even some plastic explosives.

I'd like to give the opportunity here to take a leaf out of TF2's books where they identified certain choke points being solely to grenades; BF2142 is the same - No one bothers attacking the titans due to corridor grenade spam.

Grenades should be powerful but low in quantity, and take a while to resupply.
