Blotted Science

Or: what happens when you mix Death, Necrophagist, and Rush
This is a band I checked out recommendation of my buddy today, and was very pleasantly surprised. It's an "extreme metal instrumental" album, ie: no vocals. It features an AMAZING guitarist I've somehow never heard of before, the bassist from Cannibal Corpse, and another amazing no-name drummer. It's a very interesting album with a lot of strange stuff going on all over, and it's just trippy, entrancing, and probably the best album I've heard all year.
Samples can be found at this place and this other place.
Every song is awesome, but check out Laser Lobotomy, Bleeding in the Brain, and pretty much every other song. Seriously, though. Listen to Laser Lobotomy.
