<div class="IPBDescription">Retail has less bugs, less annoyances ?</div>I have been playing the LOTRO Demo 7 day trial with high res textures. I am finding it interesting but finding some annoying bugs with it.
How does the Demo compare to the full retail thing ?
It took me 6 hours to download the whole demo (somehow it stopped while I was sleeping) at extream high speed cable.
annoying bugs/things I find in the demo:
- store pop up windows not refreshing at all or extreamly slow when running in 1280x768 compared to 1024x768
- same problem with quest pop ups
- all NPCs and Players are walkthroughs which makes it kind of stupid (running up to a MOB, going through it, turning back but then he turned back and went through me again so i have to re-re-turn back, ...)
- game is a little bit laggy but not enough to bug me
- 1-2 quests I cannot finish because I found the NPC but he somehow doesn't notice I have something to give him or tell him
- some descriptions are a bit ambigous or vague (like horses, it says I can buy them for a specific ride but can I ride them anywhere <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />)
- sometimes the camera is annoying because it gets behind trees which aren't transparant and therefore don't know where my char is heading
- I am sure I have other things bug since I am at the office, I do not recall all of them

about your questions... it's a graphically intensive game for an MMO so I can imagine you might get graphical lag on a lower or midrange system. try lower graphics settings.
walking through mobs is pretty much standard for all MMO's, I guess so you don't get trapped by mobs or people don't lure mobs to you to trap you. my advice is either stand still and let the mob come to you, or back up occasionally while you fight so that the monster stays in front of you.
if you really have all the quest objectives for a quest, make sure you're bringing them to the right person and stuff. if you're positive you're doing everything right, and you tried asking on chat, report it as a bug.
you can ride horses from one stable to the next, provided you have discovered the stable master at your destination's location. when you hit level... I think 30? you can buy your own horse that you can ride anywhere.
the perspective/camera never really bothered me - I assume you're using the mouse to look around? I was always able to just move any obstacles out of my view by moving around or zooming in or out.
at any rate, I liked the game, but I got bored of the game when I hit level 50 since there wasn't enough to keep me interested at that point =p
And I used to know this guy that complained about stuff getting in the way of his view when I played World of Warcraft, it turned out he didn't use his mouse, so from then on whenever I dueled him I just stayed behind him and I didn't get touched, ever.
And about quest bugs, just check allakazam (or however it's spelled) if that dosen't help you, send a ticket in.
