I step by step on installing and running NS i have tryd but i thought i'd ask someone else its driving me up the wall

install halflife
run halflife
install ns
restart steam
play ns through steam

if U wanna play NS on LAN, or wanna play in OFFLINE mode,

U must folow this steps:

1. Download a Counter Strike 1.6 from here :

2 :Download a NS 3.1 (older version, but WORKS on OFFLINE, and LAN MODE)

3 : edit Config.cfg, and listenserver.cfg following lines:
sv_Lan 0
change to
Sv_Lan 1

the directions there (if actually followed) will work. If those are the directions you used, and you have had problems with it. Then I would suggest letting us know EXACTLY what has gone wrong (error message, etc).
