Difference between Eve and X3 ?

<div class="IPBDescription">Baught X3 last year but never played cause of card</div>I saw references on MMORPG.com about EVE that looks alot like X3 that I baught 12 months (at least) but never played it because it turned out that my video card is at its limit.

What is the difference between the 2 ?

One is awesome, the other is X3.

But seriously, the only difference I am qualified on talking about is that EVE is a MMO and isn't X3 single player? That's a pretty <i>massive</i> difference.

They're completely different in every way except 2: you can focus on the economic side of things, and they're set in space. Otherwise, EvE is an MMO and X3 is an open-world single player game. EvE has thousands of other players, X3 has zero. EvE's combat is just clicking, whereas X3's is more like a normal space sim. EvE also has a lot less automation in terms of managing your economic empire. And of course EvE has a monthly fee, player-made corporations that compete for regions of space, alliances and betrayals, and a player-based economy that relies on some people sitting in front of an asteroid clicking on it. These MMO-centric characteristics aren't in X3 because it is of course a single player game. Oh, and X3 has a plot, although that's not really the point.
