very shiny. Sometimes the sounds seemed to have issues (like the guns), but overall I applaud your abilities. Years ahead what I can even attempt to do.
Great work! It's great seeing so many of the in-game models together at once in an environment, starting to get a good feel for how it'll feel to play. Can't wait! :)
Awesome work, I liked how you managed all this with one marine outfit.
Does anyone else think it's a bit odd that the aliens always seem to win or at least have the upper hand in the fan fiction? (six days out of Sanji and this)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most the stories about marines walking into traps and never even suspect the Kahraa are near them? In this film they were, as the commander says "relax [whoever] the Kahraa are miles away" or something similar right before the other marine discovers the hive.

<Bad> clan siege server ... and <Bad> clan CO if their running co_core (gotta get my fill of gl spam), or co_blackmesa (gotta get my fill of gl spam) :P
And yes, once, on chucksiege... i joined a server that had like at least 15 ips... it was hilarious because we also won that round. I loved how their was never a delay in respawning despite the heavy deaths... this sort of prevented the enemy from ever advancing to marine start :P

Ya that's on my favorites list also, along with G4BTS, but for some reason i like the <bad> clan.
Seriously man, when I first read you were going to make a fan video, I was stoked but I never expected such a pro green screener / costume designer / director! Honest to god, if you could find I way to produce those marine suits so I could go halloween'ing in one with my daughter ...
So, what does the now famous (within the NS2 community) Jon Finger aka Mojokdirector going to do for an encore? Are you going to find a way to take gameplay footage fan videos to the next level and do some sort of feature film that I can buy a ticket for or dvd of? Did the Unknownworld Developers give you any kind of phat loot for your efforts, like putting you down for the special pre-order or putting a mojok citizen engineer character in the game who is like a guy watching camera feeds or something? Oh, would you ever consider trying a anime style fan movie?
Sincerely, your fan, CW aka Wolvie aka CanadianWolverine aka Michael
PS. I signed up for Digg just to Digg your movie on the link from Unknown Worlds twitter feed.
wow, quite impressive. loved the knife kill. i would have wanted a pistol kill if this was ns1, but since they might use that tazer thing, it would have been cool to see that veteran get saved by frying that group of skulks
I thought it was very well done - it must have taken a LONG time to make this, and you managed to stay very true to the NS mythos and world.
A few constructive thoughts (so if you make another it can be even better!) 1) Sound was a bit muffled in the beginning. You only had $50 but I thought you could have managed this sightly better. 2) The dialogue wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. Some lines were definitely better than others. That said, you probably could have gotten away with less dialogue, for the better. In a short movie like this, I feel as though letting the camerawork tell the story is the way to go. 3) The camerawork was good, but there were some scenes I wish you had shot from a different angle. The skulk running through the vent, I thought, should have not been a scene. Instead, you could have added far more intensity by having the camera be at the level of the people, aiming up at the camera with them visibly looking up and aiming their guns at the vents. Jaws showed that your adversary becomes far more menacing when he is not seen. More over the shoulder shots would have been great, especially in the gunfights.
Other than that, excellent work. Its hard to make anything on such a small budget, and you should be commended for your excellent work. Hopefully the next one is even better.

edit: love that the reinforcement is a female
I think it's a welder bot, unless welder bot / repair bot is one and the same...
Make sence if they are.
