I hope doom sprites come pouring out of the hole they create for massive lulz

This. Stop saying this.
Anyway, nothing bad will happen. The black-holes should (will) evaporate within a fraction of a second from hawkings radiation. iirc, this thing was actually supposed to be done last year but numerous setbacks have driven the eta to later this year or early next year.
Famous last words.
Saying just that is annoying, lulz is not bad.
These pictures are awesome. But it's also kinda scary.
Eh, for all intents I could use the word "will" but speaking in absolutes isn't very science-y
cant be famous when everyone has been sucked into the same spot haha
There are two very nice videos about the ATLAS detector called Episode 1 - A New Hope and Episode 2 - The Particles Strike Back. They explain how detectors are build and how they work.
Here at Creationism Labs, we seek the Truth in our own way. We hurl King James Bibles together at great speed, smashing them into tiny bits of paper which we paste together to form new Divine Revelations.

I think it's time to stand back and let the boffins that understand this gauff do their business. A zillion demi-knowledgeable posers poncing about randomly adding words like "quark" and "boson" to their sentences without any real understanding of their meaning won't help anyone.
I, for one, think we'll discover some new facet of gravity, or re-interpret our observations of the universe, and do away with all this stupid "dark matter" sillyness. Mark my words, within ten years we'll look back in shame.

Sure, ruin all our fun. I guess I'll just have to stick with Schroedinger, entangled, and photon.
Do you think they'll be able to observe a an entangled photon, or will that let Schroedinger's cat out of the bag?
Edit: Where's that quote from Scythe?
beated. I wanted to post this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

you should read more, the magnets broke because a engineer was a new###### and did not make the supports correctly. I'm sure the magnets they are using are strong enough to rip a pen through your chest from across the room XD

What is this moon-speak?
Were you ironic on purpose? In one paragraph you rail against people not knowing what they are talking about when it comes to scientific theory (which really isn't that complicated honestly) then in the next you do the equivalent by saying you reject a fairly well accepted theory based on... what?

Scythe is actually Stephen Hawkings. True story.
.. would help if it wasn't supposed to generate more temperature than the sun's core or if you're the flame guy from the Fantastic 4.
It was something like 2 billion degrees (for a split instant) compared to the sun's rather cool 30 million (disclaimer: numbers may not stand up to closer inspection).
Now, now, if they follow standard insertion procedure, everything will be fine.
