<div class="IPBDescription">Oh god, my wallet just died</div>So, for the last 3 months I've been slowly assembling my new dream gaming rig. Watching the price creep up. Afraid to actually install Crysis before I buy it, yet afraid to actually buy the screaming pile of money obliteration.
Well, last night my video card died, forcing me to go back to an old 6800 that can't even put out my monitor's native resolution <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
So guess what happened.....

It's called "Polygonal Death 2" (My last iteration of dream machine was PD1).
The 32GB SSD is for Windows and Applications. The 4x Raptor 150GB's are for a raid 0 game partition. And the 1TB seagate is for storage.
It's going to be my first attempt at water cooling, any quick advice on spare parts I should go ahead and order?

OMFG
That setup's gotta fly indeed :o
BUT, <b>does it run Crysis?</b>
I demand screenshots with fps of Crysis!
Only thing - the case is actually fairly large for a mid tower but I wonder how well it'll hold 5 HDs, and your radiator/reservoir, power supply, large GPU etc. My bet is that's going to be either a very tight fit or it's going to be a hack job. This is from experience - I own the P182 version of the case, looking at it I'm curious to know where things will be going
However this might also need something extra in terms of pumping power, a friend of mine also used a WC set and he had to buy a secondary pump just to get the water flowing trough his CPU and dual GPU blocks, simply because the one pump that was part of the set didn't have the power.
Something to look into, no?
Another thing you might want to look into is looking for a decent raid controller instead of the motherboard one. Those are usually not as good as a PCI raid controller with its own cpu and memory...
Just my 2 cents <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

Your avatar fits that post so well it's actually frightening.
But yeah. Space inside the case is definitely something to think about. I never used to even consider it, but even something as simple as adding a new gfx card in my old PC showed me how quickly room can vanish in a case. My current case is a coolermaster RC-331 and with 2 gfx cards and 2 hard drives in there, it's a tight fit.

It shall be done.

The reserator is an all-in-one external deal (like I said, first WC attempt). And I do indeed have my fingers crossed that the GPU isn't going to give me space problems. Although the case does have an ideal solution for air cooling the raptors. It has 4 HD slots and the power supply in a separate chamber from the motherboard for a wind tunnel effect on the parts there. The other 2 HDs shouldn't generate quite as much heat, one is solid state, and the other will have pretty low amounts of reading/writing compared to the others.

A better question is <b>will it blend?</b> I demand pictures with dps of toy cars being shoved into the... water cooling? Dammit, we need fans! FANS! Does the heat exchanger have fans? It must!
Why not spend 7k now, and another 7k in 2 years?
Honestly though, there's little explanation. I just want to experience the blazing edge for a little while.
Get a koolance tower, i've had one for about 4 years and its been running every day since i've owned it. It has yet to fail one of its two pumps or spring a leak. But even if it did spring a leak, it would do nothing because the fluid it uses is di-electric. Only complaint is that it gets really dusty really fast so make sure you buy filters. Get one.
Oh also with liquid cooling cases, they normally dont sell the adapters that attach to the cpu/gpu/hard drive/ram with the case, they must be bought separately. Another reason i suggest koolance, the extras are pretty affordable and i have had no trouble switching hardware quickly with them.
I ran into a speed vs size dilemma. All the motherboards I was looking at only supported 4 sticks of DDR3. I don't claim to be an expert on ram, but there seems to be a noticeable performance gap between 1GB sticks and 2GB sticks. And, in my experience, 2GB total system ram is the sweet spot anyways. You really only go past 4GB if you're doing artistic work.
