Trouble booting into safe mode

Does anyone know why I can't boot my PC into safe mode? Every time I do I get a BSOD saying DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. It's becoming a major issue every time something goes wrong on my rig.

Further down the screen it doesn't mention something like "nvid.sys" does it? Something to do with the graphics card, no? (Although why it'd bork in safe mode is beyond me- maybe it tries to bump down to a resolution that your display doesn't support?)

I think it does it right after it loads nvid.sys for a while.

install new drivers, if not its most likely a video card issue, write down more of the bluescreen or get a picture of it.
