NS fails to boot and crashes Steam

<div class="IPBDescription">when joining a game via the server list</div>Ever since the TF2 update, trying to boot NS via joining a server from Steam's server browser results in NS failing to start and Steam closing.


Has anyone else had this problem?

<b>Conditions to reproduce:</b>
Team Fortress 2 is fully updated as of 03/05/08

<b>Steps to reproduce:</b>
1. Boot Steam
2. Right-click Steam system tray icon or otherwise access the 'Servers' window.
3. Filter for Natural Selection servers
4. Double-click an NS server (or right-click and choose 'Connect to server')

<b>Result:</b>
NS fails to boot and Steam closes without an error message.

<b>Workaround:</b>
Booting NS from the Steam 'Games' window and using the in-game server browser will allow you to join games.

<b>System Specs:</b>
- WinXP Home (32-bit; SP2)
- Radeon x1900 (256MB; latest drivers)
- Athlon 64 3800+ XP (Venice)
- 2x256MB paired Corsair RAM

Okay, seems it was already reported here but wasn't on the first page (should've done a search, I know).

Feel free to close this thread, it seems Valve must be aware of the problem if it's affecting all HL mods so I'm sure we'll see a fix soon.

Yes me too!

But if I launch NS 3.2 via the Steam M<i>y Games</i> panel and once inside NS I can open a Server and join just fine. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
