    ENGLISH! YE GODS! USE ENGLISH!

Now just go delete your config.cfg and start NS, it will reset your video options.

The other problem can be fixed by setting "cl_gammaramp 0" once you have reset your video options.

And seriously, if yo want people to help you, please attempt to communicate like some one half way civilized.

It would have been easier if you wrote in complete sentences and used proper English, but now to your problem...

Is your video card drivers up to date? Does your video card support the native resolution of your monitor? Can you give us some computer specs? Any problems playing Half-Life 1?

    sorry...
i am not very good with computer stuff...
    Kazbar...
i update my drivers frequently so i very sure it is up to date...
the video card will definitely support the native resolution cause the video card is the original...
i did not change anything from inside the cpu...
how can i check for my computer specs???
    i could play half-life 1 before...

Well Thansal's advice was to go delete the config.cfg

    The config.cfg is located at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Your User Name\half-life\ns\config.cfg

Then after you delete the config file start up ns and type "cl_gammaramp 0" into Console. [You can access console by pressing the tilde (~) key]

Now, if this doesn't work it would be helpful to know more information about your computer. Is your computer a laptop or desktop?

From the stickied FAQ. Make sure you're typing cl_gammaramp into the console and not just in chat.

right, I feel silly, forgot where the resolution settings are stored.

    open up Steam
    Go to your Games List
    Ricght Click on Natural Selection
    Select Properties
    click on Set Launch Options
    Type in:
    -w 640 -h 480

That will force the game to launch in 640*480 (Your monitor is sure to support that), once in game you can reset your resolution to something proper (you should check what your monitor supports before hand).

Once done, follow the above steps, and just remove the "-w 640 -h 480"

You could also just change "-w 640 -h 480" to what ever resolution you want and just run with it from there.

Once you can get back in the game THEN you need to use "cl_gammaramp 0" to fix your green text/black sprites problem.

    Thank you Thansal n locallyunscene...
    Guess what???
    I can run ns!!!
I really miss that start page...
How glad i am to see it again...
    but here comes the problem...
    Thansal...
You said that once in game, I should change the resolution to proper...
I tired changing the resoultion at the video panel...
But all the options that I tried(which i believe is all of the option avaliable)
    Either the games crashes...
Or the screen just go blur...
I tried playing the game but everything is so big...
The help box was covering my hp n stuff...
    I also typed in the "cl_gammaramp 0"(without the "")
And now I can see the sprites(if I'm correct)
In simple summary, all the problems has been solved expect the resolution part...
i will try to take a screenshot asap and post it here to let everyone to have a look...

I sincerely thanks all those people who came to this post n told me tips on how to solve the problem...
Thank you guys again Thansal Kazbar n locallyunscene...
    Appreciated=)...

So, what resolutions are available to you?

My guess is that you have the wide screen resolutions ticked off and you don't have a wide screen monitor (or reverse that).

If you want a simple solution (though it is kinda hackish), try this:
    1) Right click on your desktop -> Properties -> Settings Tab
    2) See what your desktop resolution is set to (screen resolution on the left). The first number is the Width, the second the Height.
    3) Open up the launch options of NS and set those numbers into -w and -h.
So if it read "1280 by 1024 pixels" in display options then you would put in "-w 1280 -h 1024"

As I said, a bit hackish, and not really the proper way to go about this, but it will work. If you want to do this properly, then answer my first questions in this post <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
