new stuff but strangely unexcited
Between Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony I thought I'd be seeing something that made me go "oh wow!!!".
Now, don't get me wrong... I did go 'wow!' on the news of Final Fantasy XIII coming to the xbox 360. But that's not the kind of wow I was hoping for XD
Closer to the mark were the new wiimote add-on that makes it a 1:1 sensor (replicates real-space movements properly with almost no lag or misinterpretations like the non-enhanced wiimote) or the 256 player game on the PS3. Yet still I'm kind of strangely underwhelmed...
Anyone else feeling this or did anything that's been announced make you jump for joy? =o
edit: for those who've not been keeping track....

Honestly I was more excited about the new Prince of Persia trailer.
Kind of like a mix between ICO and... uh... well... Prince of Persia? XD

Maybe you're onto something there Than. I'm still just so used to these things being something to get jived about as fresh news and unveils hit but I just find this one oddly empty.
I guess the new 360 interface is kinda cool =o
Combine that with the fact that in the past E3 was just about the ONLY chance to get all the press together and cover stuff for this silly little demographic (gamers).
Now you have companies at PAX, E3, Comic Conventions, gaming conventions, and oh yah, The Internet!
Seriously, need to make an announcement? pick your sites and announce!

[yuotuubeh]
Apart from the music, much much better than the last trailer, although I hope the speed kill system remains. I liked backstabbing a roomful of enemies.
On the upside I guess there was some amusement to be had:
TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO!

From what I've heard (and I hope to God it's true), the new PoP game is going back to the original concept of having one on one fights, rather than throwing loads of weak enemies at you.
I always hated the fighting to be honest. I play PoP for the platforming, not the fighting.
At least it ain't cursed.
Or is it?
I'm gonna check out PC game stuff tomorrow. I'm more excited about the PC market now, because we're looking at fairly big onsets of PPU accellerated titles (through physX generally) and the baby steps towards a procedural content market beginning.

Force Unleashed looks interesting.
Although yeah, more accurate Wii-mote will definitely make me less angsty about finicky controls. When will they fix the nunchuck's motion sensing?
I always thought the fighting in the Sands of Time Trilogy was more of a chore than a challenge (especially in Sands of Time, where it's just get close to a wall and rebound off all the time. Only challenging part of the fighting in the game was where you're on that lift with Farah, and that's just because she's a pain in the ass to guard), it's rarely ever "hard", just tedious to get past until you can get to the next cool free running parts.
I like the idea of only having a few fights here and there, and against single, tougher opponents. It gives it more of a "duel" feel, and it's apparently what the 2008 PoP is gonna focus on.

No, I don't know what the hell they're thinking, smoking or huffing either. But the trailer does kind of speak for itself.
L4D looks pretty.Been looking forward to it for a while now.
I didn't like how cheesy fallout 3 was.Feels so wrong...

WTF. I can't believe any professional company would release something that crappy. Please tell me that wasn't really at E3.
