Is Clannad just a Kanon look alike ?

<div class="IPBDescription">Started watching ...</div>I started watching Clannad and starting around episode 5 (don't recall) you find out about a spirit manifestation of a girl in a hospital, that stays at school.

Right there, I started to wonder if this is just a Kannon-2006 look alike or not ? Or was Kanon a Clannad look alike ?

Because of that, I don't know if I should keep watching it or not.

Does the resemblance stops there ?

    They were both made by the same people so there are a decent amount of similarities but I still enjoyed both shows.

    I loved Kanon but I'd have to say that Clannad won me over even more. While they have similarities like KF mentions they're both still very well made pieces that can stand alone on their own unique strengths. Some of the tricks the main guy pulls in Clannad are worth watching the whole series for alone =3
