NS 3.1 to 3.2?

<div class="IPBDescription">need help updating my server</div>Hi all!

I have a NS 3.1 server (shows build 3647) that I need to update, however when I unzip ns_dedicated_server_v32.zip into my NS folder it totally messes up my server.

My question is how do I upgrade my server so I can play on it and not get the following error:
"your .dll (cl_dlls\client.dll) differs from the servers"

My server doesn't show up in my LAN servers list at all right now, but v3.2 internet servers do show up.


Also I would like to upgrade it without breaking my configs, plugins and stuff.


I am running the following plugins:

Metamod 1.19
AMX mod x 1.76b
adminmod 2.50.60
plus a slew of other plugins like rspore, structurehealth, mm_awards and more.

Ok well I guess no one knows anything about NS servers here then? Seems kinda weird but I figured out how to fix it myself and since no one posted any help on this subject for me; I will post what I did here in case anyone else needs help with this.

1) I extracted ns_dedicated_server_v32.zip into a temp folder
2) I changed my server.cfg and liblist.gam files to server.bak and liblist.###### for backup purposes
3) I copied the contents of the ZIP file with 3.2 in it into my NS folder and let it copy over files
4) I copied the line
gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"
from my old liblist.###### file and pasted over the gamedll line already there which didn't list metamod (if using metamod)
5) Then I deleted the new server.cfg and renamed my old one from server.bak to server.cfg

it works! mines still a bit crashy due to old RCBOTS but i'll fix it later, the site seems to be down?

Well I haven't run an NS server myself so I don't know how active it is, but there is a <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showforum=8" target="_blank">NS Server Forum</a>.

Glad you were able to update your sever. Does it play classic or combat?

Actually it does both combat and ns maps, I currently am setting it up to go every other map co_ and ns_

thanks for the info about the server forums, sometimes its hard to find help with this advanced server configuration, it's not like i can call Microsoft! haha
