The dll files are what the game tells me there is an issue with. I am posting this for a friend of mine, so I don't have exact details, from what he tells me there is a fix for this specific issues except that apparently this fix is banned on most nvidia related forums and is only available to newsgroups.
What the ###### is going on and any help is appreciated.

Are they corrupt? not found? etc.
make sure he has D3D updated.
Try reinstalling HL/NS
if he is getting the "your client.dll differs from the server" then he is running the wrong version of NS (just follow the directions on the download page).
honestly, a bit more info is required. (Especially as those dlls are not really related, and thus makes is sound like there are multiple problems).
