<div class="IPBDescription">Hmm!</div>Alright so I threw NS back on my comp for once (could still be fun I thought!) and what do my eyes have to witness? Strange Behaviour of the graphicz!
<div align="center"><a href="http://img356.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nsnancy0002fn0.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/7669/nsnancy0002fn0.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a><a href="http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php" target="_blank"><img src="http://img356.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a></div>
It's basically some strange layer of pixels OVER my game, pressing ESCAPE (getting to the menu) clears the screen but they come back when I get back into the actual game. They won't go away even though I told them to.
I even managed to fix the bug with a little workaround - Starting Half-Life (The classic/vanilla/pure one) PRIOR to starting NS will fix the bug, all these black pixels are gone! I already reinstalled NS, any way around this except the usual reinstall HL or that workaround of mine?

Meh.
What are your Sys specs? and more importantly, have you tried switching between D3D and OGL for graphics modes in NS?
I didn't try changing to d3d though, but a clannie of mine suggested that my NS opengl files are corrupt (is there such a thing? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />)
My sys is AMD CPU and ATI graphics - strange thing is that I didn't change a thing with my NS setup since the old days where everything was working fine. And it doesn't seem like the graphics card is defect cause I don't think I'd be able to play properly if it was.
very strange.
honestly, I would say reinstalls are in order.
You can probably not bother with fiddling with D3D/OGL (GoldSrc doesn't play well with D3D).
Maybe it's the steam messenger mucking up? Did you try shutting it off?
