Call of Duty 4 Sound Problem -- Help Please? =(

1st person sounds(new) do not match 3rd person sounds(old)
I've been running the game for a few weeks now, having just picked it up after ordering my new laptop, and I've run into an issue -- my sounds are messed up. I don't literally mean the sounds themselves, but the first person sounds are correct, whereas hearing someone fire the same gun back at you issues a different sound all together. My first person sounds are lively, punchy and actually sound like real guns, while the third person sounds are (what I believe to be) the old sounds before the sound update in a previous patch.

I've been scouring google for days now to no success and I've only run into one other person in game with this problem, but they're clueless on how to fix it as well.

I seriously doubt 4chan will be of any help.

You are my last hope.

Without knowing your operating system, sound card or onboard motherboard sound, output device, and ingame settings, my only suggestions are to update your sound drivers and change the ingame sound settings.

Thats the laptop I'm using. In game settings are high quality, EQ on, and windows default as the output device (between selecting headphones, stereo, mono, etc)

Try taking the sound quality down?

I remember playing with my settings and finding that changing sound ouput from speakers to stereo made a *huge* difference in how the guns sounded- they weren't as 'punchy' but sounded a lot more realistic.

Running some mid-range Creative Labs card (XFi, I think) and using headphones.

Maybe it's just meant to be this way. :x
