All I remember back then was in ns_uh... darn, I forgot the name already, but it was the satelite/double res room/cargo bay map (ns_tanith? I think so). All I remember was hearing a couple of lights just below waste handling with only a TF + 2 turrets active (rest died), with them down to their last clip. A small group of heavies were going slowly to their position... and we had to walk there. We hear their screams and yell on the mic while in transit when they were down to their pistols with skulks around ready to kill them, the heavy group arrived with hmgs to save their butt.
Ah... old pre 2.0 times. Good rose-color memories.

The first time I ever went onos, I got stuck on a turret and got stabbed to death.
I was about to see an Onos for the first time (some early) playtest build, but then the game crashed. It was not implemented yet so Charlie had made it something like 900 resources to evolve to them (which you could reach back then, iirc). I once scared the crap out of a friend who tried out Ns for the first time as a cloaked Onos! I was guiding him trough TeamSpeak trough eclipse towards maintenance. Then I asked him if he could see anything "interesting" with me standing right in front of him, at the moment he said "no" I Charged at him and knocked him about the place with him screaming into the mike (with some insults afterwards <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )
I also remember NS being very friendly towards rookies with everyone trying to explain stuff instead of screaming at them when they went Gorge (pre 2.0). My first job was Gorge on hera's holo room where I got all sorts of info about WTF to do, with me asking all sorts of stuff.
