A NEW STORY!!
That's right. Da Sarge back with a story filled with laughs, tears, and blood like you wouldn't belive. Well, let's get started shall we?
Alrighty, here is another NS_Bast for y'all to gawk at. This was one of the earlier games I played, sometime last month I belive, so I may miss some parts. Anyhoo, the game starts off with a few players asking for HMGs and GLs and HA withing the first few seconds of the game. Of course I calmly explained to them we can't get any yet due to the fact we don't even have and RPs. So, we build up a decent defence around our base, and a bunch of guys go running off every which way. I decide not to even bother.
So, it turns out that one guy actually enjoys the concept of team play, and he starts to follow me. We head off to the main aft junction, where the comm procedes to place a resource tower. By the time we finish building it, we got ambushed by a skulk or two. As soon as we spawned back, we ran right in. Not smart. These skulks pounce on us and tear us apart again. Well, new gameplan then. We make that roatating thingy spin around, letting the skulks think we were coming over. Well, we stayed out, and we let the thing spin around like 10 times before the skulks got bored. The decide to pounce us, and go into the spining thing. Once on the other side, we promptly dispose of them, then go on to build a new resource tower. We eventually build up a defence around it, and decide to push on the hive behind the blast doors there.
Well, the marine following me decided to give into mob mentallity, and walked off alone somewhere. So, I go in to check if the hive is built or not. Sure enough, it is built. So, I empty a clip or two into the hive, then a skulk bites the living **obscenity** outa me. By this time, our comm saved up enough for some HA and a few HMGs. Well, I load up on HA and HMG, and head back to the hive. I ask for some backup, and I get a volounteer. I told the comm to follow me, and place a turret factory where I told him to. So, me and my teammate walk down the stairs behind the blast door, and head down the hallway. At this point he decides to shoot at the blank wall where no aliens were in sight. I proceeded to yell my brains off at my computer screen, and tried to talk some sense into him. We were soon ambushed by 2 fades, and when we spawned back in, I still gave him a tongue lashing.
Well, I decided by now the aliens were probably smart enough to build up a better defence around the hive, so I decide to check out other areas of the map. As I start walking around, aimlessly I might add, I see that a few of my fellow marines have just been killed by an onos. I think to myself...well, you know, the same thing you think when your team is faced down with an onos, and when you had a chance to take out a hive and stop them in your tracks. (I still kinda have a grudge.....) Well, anyways, I start typin "Onos on their way. You guys in spawn better get ready".
I start walking around again, knowing that there is an onos ready to bite my head off. Suddenly, I am surrounded by spores. My screen fills up with green, and I see a little patch of yellow to my right. It must have been a lerk. I let off two shots before I choke and die. When I spawn back in, I find that our base is already being mauled by an onos. It plowed through alot of the turrets, and marines were emptying clips into it. I asked how did it get in, and the tell me through that phase gate. Great....we got an unguarded phase gate somwhere with a sign on top saying "Welcome to marine spawn,
make yourself at home" Unfortunately, a Kharaa idea of home is a chair made out of marine skulls, and a nice commander stew. Anyways, we tried to build up a few turrets, knowing it won't do much good. Suddenly, 2 onos charge through the phase gate, followed by a fade. The onos are going crazy, biting everywhere. But, for the most part, they didn't hit anything. Belive it or not, we pushed em out. The commander dropped a few HMGs, but that was it, our RPs were just bout done.
The match ended with us gettin rushed by onos from every enterance. We had about 5 onos I think wedge into the marine spawn nuking everything in sight. It wasn't a proud moment to be a marine, but the feeling of pumping some round into a onos and hearing that delightful yell of pain as it falls makes it totally worthwhile.
