NS Single Player

I would love it, and I think UW's bank account would love it too, if NS2 had a single player component. Looking at the NS2 gallery makes the whole NS2 universe's concept seem so epic, and having a single player complete with storyline would lure as well as train new players.
The ns concept lends so easily to a single player storyline. Hell, 6 days in sanji would work itself, and it's already written... sort of.
Anyway, how hard do you think it would be for uw to make a single player, even if it's not that long? Perhaps they could work on it after NS2 comes out and sell it separately (hopefully for a discounted price to those who already have ns2 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> )

Here's what would have to be done.

    1) Smart player bots for both Marine (plus Commander), and all Alien lifeforms.

    2) Then without too much additional work involved, they could make "missions (matches)" like UT3. This would be the only feasible way to include a single player component with limited resources.

    3) Would this increase sales... probly not. All the effort put into this could be put into new gameplay features and the like.

    4) Now if the NS2 DEV team had the bank accounts of EA, then there wouldn't be any reason not to. However if they were like EA, we would have a pretty shi**y game regardless; plus limited installs. LOL Z!!!

If Natural Selection 2 were to have a Single Player mode there should be two stipulations first. Firstly you'd have to play as Marine's story line before you could play Alien's story line, and Friendly Fire would be on all the time for the NPCs helping/trying to help you in game.

Marines would have to retake Outposts, Bases, or Ships that have been over run with Aliens to further progress.
Aliens would have to invade Marine's Outposts, Bases, and Ships to further progress.

Each LV would be a new mission and surrounding area.

i like this idea a lot, i think ns has a great atmopshere and if you put a well story around it i could be great (i just remeber AvP 1 + 2) i for my self alway play the singleplayer first before i log on online cuz i have no idea how the game works and after singleplayer i know it (of course i dont know online tactics).

if its is a marine only SP of for both sides, it would be fun to see (espacialy those long streched singleplayer maps with programmed events and some dialoges and cut scenes maybe some cut movies and good storyline *drool* )

so imagines you are "James Taylor" new to the TSA and you just have to do watch on a mining station out on some damned planet and one day suddelny hell is breaking loose the kahara is commin ^^

on the other hand IP´s, arms lab and command chair would look a bit misplaced in an SP game ^^

I would think single player would be quite different with a mission . For the most part i'd think the mission would begin with a lot of the marine stuctures in place.

And if NS dev's don't decide to make a SP mode I bet someone with the time will. The NS Devs have been rambling on how NS2 will be able to picked apart and changed for any need.

On another note. someone's gotta make a BFG weapon.
