New Gorge Abilities

Well the idea here is to make Alien movement routes "less" linear.
I think Gorges should have a new ability.. that would allow them to lay an egg(spawn a specific player in at the cost of a few res points).
For this reasons gorges would be more important to gameplay and marines would feel as if aliens could be anywhere, infront/behind taht vent that crack etc...

I'd love to see a Gorge spawn glowies.

Cool idea. I love gorgies! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" />
But I don't think the gorge should have to spend res to do it. Since skulks are what spawn first, all you're going to be doing it allowing a skulk to be somewhere fairly fast (which is terrific but also potentially game breaking depending upon the game mechanics). There should just be like a ten second cooldown on it. Marines have PG's...Aliens can have the rambo gorge laying eggs in random places =D.

On NS1 sized map that might be worth it even with the res cost, at least on smaller games. For example a gorge could plant eggs on the 'passive side' of the map (sub side on veil if the hive is pipe) to get some skulks for res biting. On smaller NS2 maps I don't know yet.
It think it would be cool if gorges could lay up to 3 eggs(res cost per egg) at once, before a 1 to 2 minute cooldown takes place. I also think it would be nice if the Gorges could choose specific players from something like the Tab sheet but simpler so gorges could spawn their team's top players, eliminating their dead teammates "waiting period"(Except for hatching from the egg).
With this ability, Gorges could stealthily organize a "Wave Ambush", where a few gorges work together to spawn in dead team mates in another location. This would be a great tactic to use after your team has rushed a Marine front and died.
The drawback to this ability should should be that you're not able to evolve into "Large" lifeforms like the fade or onos.(Those can only be spawned from the Hive).
Maybe Gorges should be allowed to "web" door / elevator "buttons.. leaving it useless until a marine can weld the web off the button for use..
This would create a need for quickly finding and "Defending" gates/elevators an such..
I got a marine entangled for a good 2 minutes that way. He didn't like that very much. Probably didn't like the fact that I was heal-spraying him to death either. Just sucked that he was an admin. I can never return to that server ever again... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

Sounds like a sore loser there... You completely annihilated his ass, too

"...evolve special abilities, lay eggs and plant traps."

but by the time you have webs, does it really matter?
No/don't care.
Tell me he was in heavy armor. Or at least a jet pack. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
I would call that a clever use of the game mechanics rather then "being a jerkbag and abusing webs".
