Custom Aliens?

As aliens have the ability to evolve I feel like this would fit the story perfectly.
Basically during spawn you adjust the values of your alien.
Values being:
Health
Speed
Damage
Size?

Each class has a different range

I am not exactly how the balance system would work out IE point based or pro con based.
Point based meaning you can put X points anywhere you want.
Pro con based
+health = -speed +size
+speed = -health - size
+damange = +size -speed
+size = +damage - speed

OK that is a horrible example but you get the point

Or you can have a hybrid point balance system.

Maybe the player can use resource points to add points to their body.
As you get chambers or hives you get more points or you have higher max and mins

I feel like this would be really useful.

    I wouldn't do classes - I'd just make it a sliding scale.

    Neat idea. It would make it tough for players to work out exactly how many bullets to kill a skulk, which could become frustrating. But I'm not sure I really see that level of calculation as being totally necessary for the game to be fun (I can see mak rage-uploading a youtube video already).

    I don't like it, custom stats are extremely difficult to balance properly which ultimately leads to people using only a handful of builds, and it adds the drawbacks of being intimidating to new alien players and confusing to marines.

    Erm only way I'd play something like this if it were in Combat. Putting a system like this into Natural Selection games would be a horrible idea.

    Umm... I don't know if ever found this feature but aliens CAN upgrade
    Celerity - speed
    Focus - damage
    Carapace - life
    Now most of these abilities are weak and should be made stronger and distinctive...
    They should not only be full strength with three chambers but also get stronger with the 2nd hive

    Yea, he saying from start, which is, ehh, good, but too confuzzling, and only good for, as said, a combat mode.

    I played in the Savage 2 Beta where they had it so that you gained levels during the game and could adjust each stat individually. There were about 12 stats and it was extremely overwhelming knowing that there is probably a build for each class in the game. When I returned to Savage 2 when it became free, they reduced the 12 into just 4 stats you could increase, but I still didn't like it. The additional complexity was not really moot and I didn't want to number crunch a build.

    Player skill and load out (marine weapons / alien life form) is enough variables without having to deal with individual alien attributes.

    What is the range?

    for example:

    If the gorge remove 69 HP, and have 1 HP only ??

    What is the velocity ?? 300 mph ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />D

    and another side, the ONOS:

    if the onos have 80 Million HP+AP? and speed is almost zero ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    undefeatable <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />D
