sound problem

hi. i've got a problem with the sounds in NS. sometimes (1 minute ago, for example), the 3d-system seems to be confused. it's like sounds made by my alien are far away (u can barely hear your own bites) and sounds made by jetpacks or hmgs e.g. are really close and loud.
i didn't change anything in my configurations, i had this problem on my old pc with windows XP running and now on my new one with windows VISTA.
the problem comes and goes, sometimes restarting the game works, sometimes nothing works, like at this moment.

my sound is onboard, on a msi-mainboard, the old pc had a quite good trust-soundcard, so it's nothing wrong with my hardware i think.
you can also eliminate the thought, anyone could use the voice, for all jokers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

sorry, if this is a double-post, i didn't find anything using the search-function.

greets, cb

How many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
    None, its a hardware problem.
