<div class="IPBDescription">Can i quit halfway please!! The marines are attacking!</div>As my topic description says, and as I'm sure many of you have experienced at one time or another, when you are mid way through onos gestation, and the marines attack, it is sad. You panic! First thing I try to do is cancel it, then i remember you can't.
Now, in theory, being unable to cancel gestation is how it should be. I mean, imagine if you popped out mid lerk gestation. You got 2 legs, 1 wing and no eyes. (wow i may have just made a wicked new alien idea)
So. Should egg be able to be cancelled? No points refund?
Just an idea. I know how annoying it is to die in egg, and I'm sure you all do too.
P.s. if you say, don't be retarded and egg in a safe spot, no need. Said it right there.

You are right, there is nothing else to say.
..except maybe that mappers should add more safe spots for onos eggs, at least for each possible hive location.
I don't think one should be able to cancel gestation and in ns2 things work differently anyway judging from the podcasts.
The hive hangs from the ceiling... Why can't eggs as well?
Biology 101 folks...

Egging is meant to be a risky process. If you're going to onos, get your team to make sure you're safe.

Well yea thats true too ^^ but sometimes ur team is just stupid and leaves you alone near hive that marines are attacking <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> Call for help button would be cool in ns2 when gestating.
Egg- defenseless, no control, basically just a "sit and wait".
Larvae- slow movement, player is NOT bored. And could possibly be given a weak spit weapon just for kicks.
It'd keep players more immersed, and offer some minimal hive defense. Also, a size multiplier would make sense, a larvae growing into an Onos would be a helluva lot bigger than a little Lerk larvae <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />. And yeah, the larvae should inherit armor/health values from what they're growing into, with less raw HP and health regen to make up for it, but some armor value. Perhaps a requirement that the larva needs to be at 100% health to change?
It always bugged me that an onos would pop into existance out of a tiny egg!
You could help explorating for the comm and defend your egg by blinding the enemy.
yes to egg on top of hive
yes to increase defence in egg if in your previous form u had increase armor ( carapace )
Maybe alien eggs are (conscious that is) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
sorta like ants in a hive protecting the larve.... seems like a fitting task for gorgies <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
No, choosing safe gestation spots is part of the tactic.
Marines would be surprised when they walking slowly to the hive and an egg slowly creeps down towards their head.
Eggheadshot!
Ye, that would make for some awesome visuals.
But then again - you'd need JP to knife eggs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />.
Maybe during gestation you can upgrade a protective coating (carapace or maybe even cloaking) type thing in exchange for some extra res. So if you didn't have carapace before you start gestating, you don't have to kill yourself first? Or would it be totally unreasonable to queue your upgrades while gestating? Then you don't have to pop out, upgrade, pop out etc... Then these upgrades sortof dictate how protected your egg would be as well. For example: if you upgrade redemption you have a chance of being teleported to a safe hive, etc.

Why would you knife the eggs? :/
In NS2, you will maybe be able to throw your knife...or the Commander chair.
I lol'd. But seriously, should an Onos be able to kick the Chair on the Marines? I think not.
P.s. the idea of upgrade queing while gestating is BRILLIANT!

or a pissed off gorge drags a onos egg into a marine base to get shot up x.x; It would have to be a way to allow/dissallow someone to move you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
